GUPS STANDS WITH GHANA FIRST PATRIOTIC FRONT AND NUGS

GUPS STANDS WITH GHANA FIRST PATRIOTIC FRONT  (GFPF) AND NUGS.

In pursuant of article 35(1&2) which states that, "Ghana shall be a democratic state dedicated to the realization of freedom and justice; and accordingly, sovereignty resides in the people of Ghana from whom Government derives all its powers and authority through this Constitution.
(2) The State shall protect and safeguard the independence, unity and territorial integrity of Ghana, and shall seek the well-being of all her citizens".

This underscores the fact that the sovereignty of Ghana is supreme and our birthright and for that matter cannot be mortgaged for any paltry amount of money that has the propensity to endangering the future of the country which the state is mandated to protect.

The Ghana Union of Professional Students (GUPS) believes that more often than not when issues of national interest arises, the youth and student leaders in particular fails to rise to the occasion yet they have the laxity to chant that the future of the country resides in the youth.
This is the time we must rise to speak and protect the interest of the youth and the entire Ghanaian citizenry against the passage of the infamous "Ghana-US Military Coup D'etat".

For this reason, the Ghana Union of Professional Students with supports from her over Thirty-Six (36) professional institutions, supports the call by the Ghana First Patriotic Front (GFPF) and the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) to hit the street to expressing their utmost displeasure against the government and calling on the latter to abrogate the deal or engage in broad-stakeholder consultation for a re-look and proper interpretation of the deal if necessary at all.

GUPS remains a nonpolitical, nonprofit and professional umbrella that seeks, protects, safeguards and propels the greater interest of the professional students of Ghana.

NEC CONGRATULATES NEW GUPS EXECUTIVES

NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE CONGRATULATES NEWLY ELECTED GUPS EXECUTIVES...

The National Executive Committee( NEC) of the Ghana Union of Professional students, extends a congratulatory hand to the new executives of the professional Union in a press statement signed by members of NEC today the 24th day of August, 2017 in Accra.

NEC, herein refers to as the National Executive committee is the second highest decision making body aside Congress as postulated in the GUPS constitution.

The statement recalled that, a week ago, The 16th Annual Residential delegates Congress held on the campus of Kings University College gave birth to a new crop of exuberant executives to spearhead the affairs of the Union for the next year. NEC saluted H. E. Ibrahim Abdullai and his executives for the victory and commitment to advocate in the interest of professional students.

" A leader without a successful successor is but a successful failure'' The Wisdom Gmayan led adminstration did their best possible to salvage the Union from Imposter infiltration of which we commend them, the release stated.

According to NEC, they are looking forward to work together as they throw their unflinching support to the  agenda of the newly elected executives in their quest repositioning GUPS positively in the cooperate world.

NEC prayed that the elected executives should be able to win the office not the position because the good students of GUPS have high hopes in them to deliver their mandate professionally. NEC therefore called on all stakeholders, public and well meaning Ghanaians to recognise and support the Ibrahim led adminstration for the forward match of our beloved Union.

The Union is bigger than individuals and we must not countenance any act of impersonation or misrepresentation, the press release hinted.

GUPS ELECTS NEW EXECUTIVES

GHANA UNION OF PROFESSIONAL STUDENTS (GUPS) ELECTS NEW NATIONAL EXECUTIVES

The Ghana Union of Professional Students (GUPS) has elected its new crop of executives to man the affairs of the Union for the 2017\2018 academic year. This was held at the Union's 16th Annual Residential Delegates Congress held from 16th to 20th of August, 2017 at the Kings University College in Accra.
The theme for this year's Congress "harnessing the potential of the professional students, the role of Government and the International community", saw many speakers touching on key areas of skill and talent developments.
Keynote speakers included the Member of Parliament for Tongu North, Hon Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, former Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Oye Luther, Member Parliament for Jirapa, Hon. Francis Bawaana Dakura, the Registrar and Finance Director of Kings University College including many other speakers and students leaders across the country.
In a speech, Hon. Okudjeto Ablakwa Former Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Tertiary under the erstwhile H.E J.D Mahama's administration charged the professional students to wake up from slumber and hold the bull by the horn by saying there's a lot of work to be done as a Union. He walked delegate, observers and all participants of the opening ceremony through the evolution of the National Union of Ghana Students which is the umbrella body of Ghanaian students home and abroad. He elaborated on how significant students Unions can be in building consensus on national discourse affecting education and its major stakeholders which is the students.
Hon. Francis Dakura, M.P for Jirapa also admonished the Union to build a formidable and united front to enable the Union to stand against any individual or group of persons who intend to drag the hard earned reputation of the Union to the cleaners. He hinted that it was out of unity that led to the renaissance of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS)which engaged government on key educational policies to help develop the sector. He said it was through the effort of Ghanaian students that gave birth to the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND), abolishing of the Quota system and a lot of policy intervention to mitigate the woes of the ordinary Ghanaian student.
Hon. Oye Luther equally took her turn at the "girls talk", a program by the Unions Women's Commissioner specifically designed to enrich and empower the young women in exploiting all rightful avenues in getting to the apex of both educational and economic ladder. She asserted that the power of the girl child is without limit and boundary, hence nothing can stop them from getting any of their dreams materialized.
On the fourth day of the congress, election was conducted by the Union's Electoral Commission to elect new executives for the next academic year. At the end of the polls, the following individuals were duly elected into various positions;
President-Elect-  Mr. Ibrahim Abdulla, a student of Africa University College of Communication

🔹Treasurer-Elect - Mr. Emmanuel Selassie Amedzor, a student of University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA)

🔹 Co-ordinating Secretary-Elect. -  Mr. Tetteh Djem Bismark, a graduand of Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ)

🔹Women's Commissioner-Elect. Ms. Clara Emefa Asempapa, a student of University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA)

-Programs and Projects Coordinator Elect-  Mr. Wisdom Uwumborkan, a graduate of University College of Management Studies Accra (UCOMS Accra)
🔹Financial Controller Elect-  Mr. Polycarp Opoku-Dwamenah, a graduate of University of Professional Studies, Accra. (UPSA)

Meanwhile, the position of the Press and Information Secretary and International Relations Secretary remains vacant till a bye-election is conducted to fill the vacancy as enshrined in Article 32 (8) of the GUPS constitution.

MY VIRGIN ROMAN SISTER

The door bell rang for three conservative times. So I quickly run from the kitchen to respond to who ever it may be. Oh! Woow it was Sister Esenam the new Roman Sister who has been brought to serve in our parish. She opened her arms wide to embrace me but out of shyness, I couldn't return that warm gesture. I only tried by faking a hag which from her facial expression, I realized it didn't go down well with her.
Hummm Bro Djem you smell very good and I really like it, she exclaimed. I was already leading the way to the hall so she followed and I offered a seat. Sis Ese please what will you care for? I asked. Okay do you mind if I join you in the kitchen? She also quizzed. So I asked her to go into the fridge and help herself. Eiii woow Bro Djem you are a good cook too? She couldn't hide her joy.

I was then busily calculating the Pythagoreans theorem of an "Agushi" stew using a perpendicular axis of eggs and Salmon to solve an equation of a coconut oil rice. The aroma of the stew was so strong that it caused some flies to be in traffic behind the kitchen door for several hours. The same aroma casted a spell on one next door neighborhor (who thought she is the most beautiful and precious lady in the town yet she doesn't know how to even boil water) as though she was possessed to ask why I was making noise with my stew.

Within few minutes, the food was ready and Sis Ese helped to serve, offered her Holy Ghost motivated prayers and then eating begun. While eating, we defiled the concept of table manners and had a very interesting moments of conversation. We had a thorough engagement on how life had faired with each of us in the city before our return to that small town for different reasons and how far with preparations for the induction ceremony next sunday .

Now eating was over so she took over everything that has to do with clean up. Within a bat of an eyelid she was done tidying up the kitchen and arranged the couch in the hall so nicely.
Hmm I wish we could have all day long to ourselves and chat but time would certainly not be friendly to us. She expressed with so much concern as she drew closer towards where I sat opposition her.
Bro Djem please give me a hag before I leave, she said jokingly. This time around I gathered all the gentlemanly features of me and stood upright to welcome her warm chest. She drew near, this time very closer and hagged me.

To my greatest astonishment, she held me by the head and kissed me so deep and whispered into my ears, "Bro Djem I'm sorry but I just couldn't help it, I admired you from the very moment I saw you last two weeks, I always notice you around anywhere with how wonderful you smell, and you are the best I have met so far". She took off her lips which was close to my ears and kissed me over again but this time so deep.
All these while I was as rigid as an emotionless woman, the moment was so great and wonderful like the odoriferous nature of a flower. I really felt the moment because it's been very long time I had such an inexplicable experience.The feeling was so strong and uncontrollable as Hon. Nii Oko's Tractor in a demolishing exercise which can only be halted by Papa J's first warning and snubbing. The last time I remember having a feeling almost close to this was those days when my school mother use to corner me at a friend's room outside campus and indulge me in such a " kissing galore " way back in Senior High School.

As all these thought were running helter-sketer in my mind, she was also busy saying a lot of things which only passes through the windows of my eardrum and vanishes like a shadow in the dark. Now I heard her clearly asking me whether I liked what she did or otherwise, interestingly, this time she didn't call me Bro Djem but she called me "Nana". So I responded in the affirmative only with a wink of my eye.

Now the feeling kept growing stronger and deeper. With my right hand, I held her by the head and she quickly placed my left hand on her waist in a way I could get hold of her beads and butt. Now from below her waist I started playing with her body slowly and I could hear her making some slight interesting " beats". She held me very tight, close to her body. I also drew my lips closer to hers. Before my lips could land unto her very soft "promised land" (lips), I heard an extremely loud voice shouting "Herrr Nana Kwame it's already 7:30am and you are still in bed, won't you be going to church today"????

I woke up from bed quickly aahhh my goodness!!! So it was a dream. It was my grandma who was shouting my name all over the house to wake up and prepare for the induction ceremony for Sis Esenam and our new Parish Priest.
As for how I described my grandma in my head, the least I could say is that " She's a dream Killer". But I wouldn't give up on this because I'm a "dream chaser".
